What's new with Alloy 2.0?

Ride With Confidence
LIFETIME WARRANTY
With the added strength designed into the Synthesis Alloy 2.0, Crankbrothers feels confident to offer a lifetime warranty to original rim/wheel owners.
If you crack, dent, or destroy your Synthesis Alloy 2.0 rim on the trail, you're backed by our lifetime warranty. That includes impacts, spoke hole cracks, and flat spots that stop your tire from holding air.
Inside the Crankbrothers Test Facility | From Our Lab To The Toughest Trails
Our HQ in San Clemente, California, is home to a dedicated wheel testing facility. It’s where ideas become prototypes, and prototypes become trusted tools for riders around the world.
The development of every Synthesis wheel starts here. From brutal impact and fatigue testing to countless laps on rugged terrain, we push our wheels to their limits. They’ve been lab-tested to the extreme, ridden hard across disciplines, and smashed down World Cup tracks by the fastest riders on the planet.
An impact test is a laboratory procedure in which we simulate a harsh real-world impact, such as hitting a jump or crashing into a sharp rock at high speed. At our San Clemente test facility, we drop a heavy striker onto the rim with a controlled force and angle to mimic the worst abuse a wheel might endure on the trail.
A fatigue test replicates the repetitive stresses that a wheel experiences over time, such as constant hits, vibrations, and load cycles from thousands of miles on the trail. In our San Clemente testing lab, we use a specialized machine to simulate long-term riding by adding blocks to a tambour while applying controlled loads to the wheel.
Proven On The Toughest Tracks
Our Synthesis wheels first hit the World Cup DH scene back in 2018 under the bikes of UNNO Factory Racing and have since seen the top step of the podium with the likes of Camille Balanche and Benoit Coulanges. They might have even won an Elite Men's World Cup Overall title (incognito).
Fast forward to 2025, and we've kicked off new racing partnerships with Commencal Muc-Off and Intense Factory Racing, as well as continued collaboration with YT Mob and Norco Race Division - all of whom are able to select between our Synthesis Carbon and Synthesis Alloy 2.0 from week to week, depending on track, weather condition, and rider preferences.

OFFICIAL WHEEL PARTNER
WHISTLER BLACKCOMB
Your favorite rider’s favorite bike park, Whistler, played a crucial role in the development of our Synthesis Alloy 2.0 wheels. Our collaboration began back in 2023 when we became an official partner of the bike park and the wheel supplier of their staff and rental bikes, which coincidentally gave us access to the ultimate field testers; the Whistler Bike Park patrol crew. In the following months, we sent the crew a few prototypes to test, and the rest was history. You’ll see Synthesis Alloy 2.0 on every Whistler Bike Park-owned staff and rental bike when you next visit.
Choose Your Discipline
Synthesis Alloy 2.0 is available now in three unique builds, each tweaked and tuned to meet the needs of each specific discipline: DH, Enduro, and E-MTB
DH
Built tougher with more material, wider rims, and thicker spokes to handle the hardest hits and biggest lines on the mountain.
Enduro
Lighter and more responsive for all-day trail riding, with a slightly narrower internal rim width and lighter spoke gauge.
E-MTB
The rugged construction of our DH model but with even thicker spokes to handle the added weight and torque of electric bikes.
